Research Vannin is a hub to promote, support and develop the conduct and value of research on and for the Isle of Man.
Research has been described as “Formalised curiosity. It is poking and prying with a purpose” (Zora Neale Hurston 1928). Good decisions whether they be in business, government or in our own lives are informed by good research, by deep understanding; and all good ideas require research to become good actions. Research Vannin wants to encourage that curiosity, those skills, that synergy.
Research Vannin is hosted by UCM in partnership with research and development teams across the Island, Research Vannin is taking a collaborative approach to promoting a vibrant and productive research community through the sharing of resources, developing relevant workshops and events as well as networking opportunities.
UCM is the Islands primary tertiary education provider and with over 550 undergraduate and postgraduate students and experienced academics – UCM has a strong research focus and also wants to provide platform for researchers, students and organisations to utilise the Island's position to offer unique research conditions …………and Research Vannin is this platform.
